Pelat
Move, Poetry, Balance
Pelat is a piece that erases the boundaries between dance, circus, theatre and performance – between audience and show. An all-natural performance combining handcrafted techniques and personal memory. A unique event that is different each time and changes through its interaction with the audience.
Pelat follows a more traditional style, reviving the notion of a work handcrafted without the use of technology.
As a dialogue between human performer, object and gesture, it intends to leave space to the imagination and to involve audiences in a transitory ritual of shared experience and responsibility.
Pelat is the first solo show by Joan Catalá i Carrasco, a young multidisciplinary creator who trained in visual arts, theatre, circus and dance, and whose extensive international CV includes work with Circus Klezmer, Mudanzas, Circo Sincler, Bolna Kist, Daraomaï, La Fura dels Baus, Sarruga, and Mal Pelo.
Pelat has been touring worldwide since its creation in 2013.
